ABOUT SIMON
I believe that I am fulfilling the my American Dream.
I was born in China and spent 9 years there, before moving to, and growing up in Hong Kong. My parents nowadays often remind me that the move was to secure better lives for my sister and I. Then, I spent the next 9 years in Hong Kong before coming to the United States of America, in search of the Dream I always have, that is, to make differences in other people’s lives.
I went to pharmacy school and have practiced pharmacy for 14 years, before going back to school to become a lawyer, in order to make even bigger impact in health-care field. In 2004, I met my lovely wife, who has been always by my side during my relentless pursuit of my Dream. My 2 daughters were born during my school years, and they have been my driving force when it came the times I felt frustrated and ready to give up my Dream. Have I mentioned my dogs and cats ? Some of them had already left this world. However, every one of them was with me for the highs and lows. They were always there for me and they will always have their places in my heart. Indeed, without the love from my family, I would not have what I have today: place to live, vehicles to drive, 2 professional degrees, along with successful professional practices. My success in making positive impact will always be attributed to my family.

SERVICES
Expertise. Intuition. Ingenuity.
The health-care field is really an unique setting, because it calls for the delicate balance between the legal/regulatory, financial, and clinical practice aspects. The legal/regulatory constrains are designed to ensure the quality of patient-care. Providers on the other hand, try to provide the best care to patients without "having their hands tied". Health-care institutions try to keep the costs down, without compromising patient-care. Finally, patients want to get the best care available.
The situation is made more complex by ever-changing legal and regulatory requirements, that govern the health-care industry in every aspect of the way businesses are conducted and services are delivered.
It follows that, the rapidly changing health-care environment requires creative, yet sensible solutions to the pressures and problems faced by the industry, it seems to make perfect sense to rely on the guidance from someone who understands both the business of health-care and regulations.
I take pride to consider myself as one who truly understands both.
I have worked as a clinical pharmacist in hospital setting for many years. During my times in the hospitals, I had worked with many other health-care professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, dietitians and other allied health professionals. I have also worked with various EMR systems and my familiarity of the the systems allows me to navigate through the data bases to get to the facts at great ease.
I understand our health-care system in different levels.
From personal level, I know the constant challenge all the health-care professionals are facing everyday: the delicate balancing act of maximizing the quality of care within the systemic constraints. As matter of facts, this is the challenge I had to deal with in my hospital tenure as a clinician. To put it in other words, I have clear ideas how the business of health-care is being conducted and the potential “traps” health-care professionals while they are trying to do their jobs.
Over the years, I also have gained knowledge regarding the financial aspect of the health-care system by dealing with real life hospital billing problems, and, by contributing to the American Bar Association Health Law Section’s publications. Therefore, on the larger scale, it is safe to say that I know health-care laws, the industry, and the force that shapes the health-care market.
My practice will be focusing on making use of my expertise and experiences in the health-care industry to help my clients navigate through and stay ahead of the complexity of the health-care landscape, as well as allowing providing them the platform to offer the best possible care to their patients. My goals are helping my clients and grow with them.

Reuters (5/2, Fick, Jacobsen) reports, “Novo Nordisk raised its 2024 outlook on Thursday as the Danish drugmaker races to boost output of its Wegovy weight-loss treatment, while competition from rival Eli Lilly forced the company to cut prices of the drug, knocking its shares.” The price for both Wegovy and Ozempic, which contain “the same active ingredient, fell in the first quarter amid increased volumes and competition, the company’s chief financial officer Karsten Munk Knudsen told analysts on a call.”
